![]() ![]() ![]() Am I close? Appreciate your input on this. If it was me, just based on the numbers here and what little I know about basic electricity, I wouldn't do help me out on this. The amp builder types can correct me on this but my hunch is that if I follow ohms law on this, it is likely that the 100 watt xformer will draw 2X as much current from the output tube plates than they were designed to handle, i.e. The 100 watt output presents a 1700 ohm load to the plates, the 50 provides almost double that at 3.6K. I'm not an amp builder but I know a bit about electric stuff. It shows the ohms resistance to the plates and the output wire colors. I found this on Amplified Parts site for a PTM-100 output transformer. I noticed these are listed as to power tube type, and you want to be sure of the connections. ![]()
